Install MariaDB server<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Nextcloud requires an empty database, so we will install MariaDB server:<\/p>\n<pre>yum -y install mariadb mariadb-server<\/pre>\n<p>Once it is installed, start MariaDB and enable it to start on boot:<\/p>\n<pre>systemctl start mariadb\nsystemctl enable mariadb<\/pre>\n<p>and run the\u00a0<code>mysql_secure_installation<\/code> post-installation script to finish the MariaDB set-up:<\/p>\n<pre>mysql_secure_installation\n\nEnter current password for root (enter for none): ENTER\nSet root password? [Y\/n] Y\nRemove anonymous users? [Y\/n] Y\nDisallow root login remotely? [Y\/n] Y\nRemove test database and access to it? [Y\/n] Y\nReload privilege tables now? [Y\/n] Y<\/pre>\n<p>Once MariaDB is installed, login to the database server as user root, and create database and user for Nextcloud:<\/p>\n<pre>mysql -u root -p\n\nMariaDB [(none)]&gt; CREATE DATABASE nextcloud;\nMariaDB [(none)]&gt; GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON nextcloud.* TO 'nextclouduser'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'YOURPASSWORD';\nMariaDB [(none)]&gt; FLUSH PRIVILEGES;\nMariaDB [(none)]&gt; \\q<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3-Install-Apache-Web-Server\"><\/span>3. Install Apache Web Server<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Next, we will install Apache web server:<\/p>\n<pre>yum install httpd -y<\/pre>\n<p>start Apache and make it start on boot:<\/p>\n<pre>systemctl start httpd.service\nsystemctl enable httpd.service<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4-Install-PHP-7\"><\/span>4. Install PHP 7<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The default PHP version on CentOS 7 is PHP 5.4. In this tutorial, we will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosehosting.com\/blog\/install-php-7-on-centos-7\/\">install PHP version 7<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Install Remi and EPEL repository packages:<\/p>\n<pre>rpm -Uvh http:\/\/rpms.remirepo.net\/enterprise\/remi-release-7.rpm\nrpm -Uvh https:\/\/dl.fedoraproject.org\/pub\/epel\/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm<\/pre>\n<p>Enable Remi PHP 7 repo:<\/p>\n<pre>yum-config-manager --enable remi-php70<\/pre>\n<p>and install PHP 7 and several PHP modules required by Nextcloud by executing the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>yum -y install php php-mysql php-pecl-zip php-xml php-mbstring php-gd<\/pre>\n<p>Next, open the PHP configuration file and increase the upload file size. You can find the location of the PHP configuration file by executing the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>php --ini |grep Loaded\nLoaded Configuration File:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \/etc\/php.ini<\/pre>\n<p>In our case, we have to make changes to the \/etc\/php.ini file. We will increase the default upload limit to 100 MB. You can set the values according to your needs. Run the following commands:<\/p>\n<pre>sed -i \"s\/post_max_size = 8M\/post_max_size = 100M\/\" \/etc\/php.ini\nsed -i \"s\/upload_max_filesize = 2M\/upload_max_filesize = 100M\/\" \/etc\/php.ini<\/pre>\n<p>and restart the web server:<\/p>\n<pre>systemctl restart httpd<\/pre>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5-Install-Nextcloud-11\"><\/span>5. Install Nextcloud 11<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/nextcloud.com\/install\/#instructions-server\">Nextcloud&#8217;s official website<\/a> and download the latest stable release of the application<\/p>\n<pre>wget https:\/\/download.nextcloud.com\/server\/releases\/nextcloud-11.0.2.zip<\/pre>\n<p>unpack the downloaded zip archive to the document root directory on your server<\/p>\n<pre>unzip nextcloud-11.0.2.zip -d \/var\/www\/html\/<\/pre>\n<p>Set the Apache user to be owner of the Nextcloud files<\/p>\n<pre>chown -R apache:apache \/var\/www\/html\/nextcloud\/<\/pre>\n<p>Finally, access Nextcloud at http:\/\/yourIP\/nextcloud . The installation wizard will check if all requirements and if everything is OK, you will be prompted to create your admin user and select storage and database.
