In this article we will show you how to install Silex via composer on Debian Wheezy VPS<\/a> with PHP-FPM and Nginx .\u00a0 Silex is a PHP micro-framework based on the Symfony2 Components and Pimple. Silex is an open source product licensed under a MIT License and developed by Fabien Potencier, the creator of the Symfony framework.<\/p>\n

\nInstall Nginx and PHP-FPM and Git<\/strong><\/p>\n

apt-get install nginx php5-fpm php5-cli php5-gd php5-mcrypt git<\/pre>\n
Install Composer (tool for dependency management in PHP<\/strong><\/p>\n
curl -sS https:\/\/getcomposer.org\/installer | php\r\nmv composer.phar \/usr\/local\/bin\/composer<\/pre>\n
Create a root directory for your project and clone Silex-Skeleton<\/strong><\/p>\n
mkdir -p \/var\/www\/yourwebsite.dev\/{public_html,logs}\r\ncd \/var\/www\/yourwebsite.dev\/public_html<\/pre>\n
Clone the repo<\/p>\n
git clone https:\/\/github.com\/silexphp\/Silex-Skeleton.git .<\/pre>\n
and run<\/p>\n
composer install<\/pre>\n
to install all dependencies.<\/p>\n
Run the following command to change the ownership of the cache directory<\/p>\n
chown -R www-data: \/var\/www\/yourwebsite.dev\/public_html\/var\/cache\/<\/pre>\n
Nginx configuration.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Create a new Nginx server block with the following content<\/p>\n

Symlink it and restart the server<\/p>\n
ln -s \/etc\/nginx\/sites-available\/yourwebsite.dev \/etc\/nginx\/sites-enabled\/yourwebsite.dev\r\n\/etc\/init.d\/nginx restart<\/pre>\n
