Log in via SSH and Update your System<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>First, you will need to log in to your Ubuntu 20.04 VPS via SSH as the root user:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">ssh root@IP_ADDRESS -p PORT_NUMBER<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Make sure to replace &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">IP_ADDRESS<\/span>&#8221; and &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">PORT_NUMBER<\/span>&#8221; with their respective values. The default SSH port is 22, but it might be set to a different value on your server.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Next, run the following commands to upgrade all installed packages on your server:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">apt-get update -y\r\napt-get upgrade -y<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Once your system is up-to-date, you can proceed to the next step.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-install-required-dependencies\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2-Install-Required-Dependencies\"><\/span>2. Install Required Dependencies<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>First, you will need to install Python and other packages required to build and set up ERPNext. You can install them using the following command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">apt-get install libffi-dev python3-pip python3-dev  python3-testresources libssl-dev wkhtmltopdf gcc g++ make -y<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Once all of the packages are installed, you can proceed to the next step.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-install-node-js\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3-Install-Nodejs\"><\/span>3. Install Node.js<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>ERPNext uses Node.js for its frontend, therefore you will need to install it on your server.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>First, add the Node.js version 14 repository using the following command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">curl -sL https:\/\/deb.nodesource.com\/setup_14.x | bash -<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Once the repository is added, run the following command to install Node.js and Redis server in your system.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">apt-get install nodejs redis-server -y<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Once both packages are installed, you can verify the Node.js version using the following command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">node --version<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You should get the following output:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">v14.17.1\r\n<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Next, install the Yarn package by running the following command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">npm install -g yarn<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Once the package is installed, you can proceed to the next step.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-install-and-configure-mariadb-server\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4-Install-and-Configure-MariaDB-Server\"><\/span>4. Create a User for ERPNext<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Before starting, you will need to create a user to run the ERPNext.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Create a new user named <code>erpnext<\/code> by running the following command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">useradd -m -s \/bin\/bash erpnext<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Next, set the password with the following command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">passwd erpnext<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Next, add the <code>erpnext<\/code> user to the <code>sudo<\/code> group so that it can run the superuser command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">usermod -aG sudo erpnext<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Next, log in to the ERPNext user and set up the environment variables with the following command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">su - erpnext\r\nnano ~\/.bashrc<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Add the following line:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">PATH=$PATH:~\/.local\/bin\/\r\n<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Save and close the file, then activate the environment variable with the following command:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">source ~\/.bashrc<\/pre>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-6-install-erpnext\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6-Install-ERPNext\"><\/span>6.
