In this step-by-step tutorial, we will show you how to easily install\u00a0eXo Platform on a Linux based virtual server<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In order to run eXo Platform, Java is required to be installed on the Linux VPS<\/a>, so install it using the following command:<\/p>\n

yum install java-1.7.0-openjdk<\/pre>\n
Download the latest version of eXo Platform available at http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/exo\/files<\/p>\n
cd \/root\/\r\nwget http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/exo\/files\/latest\/download -O eXo-Platform-community.zip\r\nunzip eXo-Platform-community.zip\r\nmv platform-community-* platform-community<\/pre>\n
Move the ‘\/root\/platform-community’ directory to the \u2018\/usr\/share\/platform-community\u2019 directory:<\/p>\n
mv \/root\/platform-community \/usr\/share\/platform-community<\/pre>\n
To start the eXo Platform, use the following command (use the ‘–background’ option to start the eXo Platform as a background process)<\/p>\n
\/usr\/share\/platform-community\/start_eXo.sh<\/pre>\n
To stop the eXo Platform, use the following command<\/p>\n
\/usr\/share\/platform-community\/stop_eXo.sh<\/pre>\n
You can access eXo platform at http:\/\/your-domain.com:8080\/<\/p>\n
Or, configure Apache as a reverse proxy so it can handle and pass the requests to eXo Platform and hide the port number in the URL.<\/p>\n
Edit the ‘\/etc\/httpd\/conf\/httpd.conf’ Apache configuration file and uncomment the following line:<\/p>\n

Then, add the following virtual host at the end:<\/p>\n
