\nIn today’s post we will explain you how you can easily install Odoo with Nginx as a reverse proxy server on a Ubuntu VPS<\/a>.
\nOdoo (formerly OpenERP) is a suite of open source Business apps. Some of the modules included in Odoo are: E-commerce, Accounting & Finance, Expense Management, Calendar ..etc.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Update your system<\/h3>\n

To update your system run the following commands:<\/p>\n

$ sudo apt-get update\n$ sudo apt-get upgrade -y<\/pre>\n
Install Odoo (formerly OpenERP)<\/h3>\n
Add the repository to your sources list<\/p>\n
$ vim \/etc\/apt\/sources.list<\/pre>\n
deb http:\/\/nightly.openerp.com\/7.0\/nightly\/deb\/ .\/<\/pre>\n
and install Odoo<\/p>\n
$ sudo apt-get update\n$ sudo apt-get install openerp -y<\/pre>\n
Install PostgreSQL Server<\/h3>\n
$ sudo apt-get install postgresql -y\n$ sudo su - postgres -c \"createuser -s openerp\" 2> \/dev\/null || true<\/pre>\n
Set the password for the openerp postgres user<\/p>\n
sudo su postgres\npsql template1\nALTER ROLE openerp WITH password 'odooPassWord';\n\\q<\/pre>\n
Install and Configure Nginx<\/h3>\n
$ sudo apt-get install nginx<\/pre>\n
Generate ssl certificate<\/p>\n
$ sudo mkdir \/etc\/nginx\/ssl\n$ cd \/etc\/nginx\/ssl\n$ sudo openssl genrsa -des3 -passout pass:x -out server.pass.key 2048\n$ sudo openssl rsa -passin pass:x -in server.pass.key -out server.key\n$ sudo rm server.pass.key\n$ sudo openssl req -new -key server.key -out server.csr\n$ sudo openssl x509 -req -days 365 -in server.csr -signkey server.key -out server.crt<\/pre>\n
Create Nginx server block<\/p>\n
$ sudo vim \/etc\/nginx\/sites-available\/yourOdooSite.com<\/pre>\n

Activate the server block by creating a symbolic link and restart nginx<\/p>\n
$ sudo ln -s \/etc\/nginx\/sites-available\/yourOdooSite.com \/etc\/nginx\/sites-enabled\/yourOdooSite.com\n$ sudo \/etc\/init.d\/nginx restart<\/pre>\n
Configure the ODOO application<\/h3>\n
Edit the server configuration<\/p>\n
\/etc\/openerp\/openerp-server.conf<\/pre>\n
and set the password<\/p>\n
db_password = odooPassWord<\/pre>\n
Create a New Database<\/h3>\n
Open your browser, go to https:\/\/yourOdooSite.com, fill the input fields and click on the “Create Database” button.<\/p>\n
After the database is created, you will be redirected to the admin panel where you can change your password.<\/p>\n
