The home directory contains the users&#8217; data files and some configuration files. The users are locked in their home directory and only have privileges to write into the <b>\/home\/user<\/b> directory on the server.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The-lib-directory\"><\/span>The lib directory<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <b>\/lib<\/b> directory contains the essential shared library files that are necessary for the <b>\/bin<\/b> directory.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The-mnt-directory\"><\/span>The mnt directory<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <b>\/mnt<\/b> directory contains the mounted temporary file systems. It can be used as a temporary mount directory for Hard Disks, USB drives, and CD-ROMs<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The-tmp-directory\"><\/span>The tmp directory<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The last directory that will be described in this blog post is the <b>\/tmp<\/b> directory. The temporary directory is used for the temporary application files that will be deleted on the system reboot.
